reiki

Reiki, an ancient Japanese form of touch therapy, is only now becoming recognized by Western medicine and becoming a standard of care in many hospitals and medical centers. Reiki, pronounced (ray –key), promotes stress reduction and relaxation which facilitates a restorative response. Re-balancing the recipient’s energy and activating the body’s innate ability for self-healing on a complete level of body, mind, and spirit is the goal. The practitioner guides clients into a deep relaxation by lightly touching energy centers called chakras (similar to acupuncture but without the use of needles). These centers are connected to body organs, systems and emotions. When there is stagnate or blocked energy in any of these areas ailments and disturbances can range from physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Helping a client reach a heightened state of relaxation by quieting down distractions and stress enables them to connect with their own body and consciousness allowing the body to tap into its own ability to heal by refocusing and re-balancing energy.
